She received her doctorate from The Wright Institute, Berkeley, and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UCSF-Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Dr. Al-Rashid has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and family populations.
As a bilingual clinician, Dr. Al-Rashid provides psychotherapy services in both English and Arabic, helping a variety of individuals and their families cope more effectively with stress and adversity. Dr. Al-Rashid's orientation to psychotherapy is trauma-focused and behavioral, with nuanced attention to attachment and culture. Her aim in psychotherapy is to create a space that is uniquely empowering and enriching to her clients, thus utilizing and integrating from interventions of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy.
