Dr. Montalvo has extensive experience working with individuals at all stages of life, diverse cultural racial and ethnic groups, English- and Spanish-speaking individuals, and families of all kinds. She has been lauded for her sense of empathy and compassion for her clients, investment in the client’s success in treatment, and flexible approach in applying therapeutic techniques to meet the diverse needs of each individual.
Regarding therapeutic style, Dr. Montalvo is rooted in a cognitive-behavioral framework and integrates the use of mindfulness, insight, acceptance, and commitment to provoke behavioral change and improve psychiatric symptoms. Her main goal is to help clients feel supported and teach them skills to alleviate their psychological symptoms to promote a healthier and happier life.
Her passions and hobbies include helping others by getting involved with her community, mindfulness-based practices such as meditation and yoga, live music, and discovering new restaurants around the city. One fun fact about Dr. Montalvo is she helped to establish the Miami Diaper Bank, a non-profit organization that provides diapers for underprivileged families throughout South Florida.
